SASSA Grant Boost 2025: Which Payments Are Affected?

SASSA has announced new grant amounts for South African citizens starting in October. There will be more increases later in October.

– Older people aged 60-74 will now get R2310 instead of R2190. Those over 75 will receive R2330 instead of R2210. Both groups will get R10 more in October.

– People with disabilities and those needing care will get R2310 instead of R2190. They will also get R10 more in October.

– Parents will now get R560 for each child instead of R530. Orphaned children will get an extra R280 on top of this making it R840 in total.

– Foster parents will now receive R1250 instead of R1180. The SRD grant is now R370 but might go up to between R420 & R500 by June.

Teachers will get a 5.5% pay raise in October 2025. The new payment structure is straightforward.

– New teachers who just graduated will earn R163,178 per year. This means they get about R13,600 each month.

When Will You Be Paid? Full Payment Schedule And Delays Explained

SASSA has made changes to their payment dates. Old age grants will be paid on October 5. People with disabilities will get their money on October 6. Child support grants are set for October 7. The SRD payments will happen between October 23 & 30.
