SASSA just told everyone about higher social grants starting October 2025. The grants will get R10 more from October 1st 2025.
This matches what Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana said in his Budget Speech for 2025/26.
He planned two grant increases – a big one in April and a small one in October.
SASSA’s boss Themba Matlou likes this change. He says it helps people who are struggling with money.
“Our government wants to help people who need support and make their lives easier” Matlou explained.
He also said everyone who should get grants will get their money on time in October. The payments will work normally.

SASSA has announced a R10 increase for social grants starting in October. The new payment amounts will be as follows:
– People who get the Old Age Grant will now receive R2320 instead of R2310.
– Senior citizens over 75 years will get R2340 up from R2330.
– Veterans who fought in wars will also get R2340 which is up from R2330.
– People on the Disability Grant will now get R2320 instead of R2310.
– The Care Dependency Grant is also going up to R2320 from R2310.
The changes are small but they affect many South Africans who depend on these monthly payments. All grants are getting the same R10 boost to help people with their basic needs.
